I stood beside my parked car
It was such a warm sunny day
I decided to take a stroll
and take pictures of what came my way
I crossed over cement blocks
walking right underneath a bridge
Noise from above was thundering
Took photos and walked to a near ridge
The other side was water
It's the mighty Fraser River
Pleasure and cargo boats galore
A guy water skiing yelled, "Give'r"
Wandered to the sandy shore
A lucky strip that was a beach
A man sat in a chair fishing
"Catch any?" I ask; was out of reach
Was feeling a cold breeze build
so decided to turn around
Ahead, I saw four ears flapping
There were two dogs rolling on the ground
Laughing, I took their photos
Their names were Homer and Lucy
So cute, a brother and sister
Wish I'd had two bones that were juicy
Other walkers stopped to watch
Their owner just stood there so proud
They made my face put on a smile
In no time flat, they had drawn a crowd
Homer and Lucy were stars
They'd both come over, lick your face
I'm sure I got some really great shots
I watched as they left, without a trace
These two cute, long-haired dachshunds
made up the best part of my day
So carefree and loving to all
Only wish humans would act this way
