On my early morning work commute, I divert, to take a walk in the woods. It's mid April, but a chill breeze vigorously stirs the newly budded trees. As I lace up my boots, a pungent, earthy scent fills my nostrils. Soon I am moving at a brisk, rhythmic pace. A serenade of fledglings In the hedgerows accompanies my steps. Sweet scent of yellow gorse wafts on the breeze. I reach out and touch its prickly stems. All too soon I must wend my weary way to my windowless office.
