I'm not a broken down
piece of furniture
lying in the corner
somewhere in a heap
I don't need too
much attention
I'm sorry I'm family
that you agreed to keep
I don't need a lot
of special equipment
My legs and arms
are stilling serving me fine
I don't need you
to babysit me
Damn it, some days
I wish I drank wine
I wish my back
and brain were normal
or that I could turn
back the hands of time
I don't need much
but a roof overhead
and a clean, dry place
to sit down and dine
I don't need anyone
putting clothes on me
or require night time aid
to get me into bed
These past seven years
would have been different
if only you owned up to
your words, previously said
