Writing Prompt |
Can you be scary in just seventeen short syllables?
Do you think you've got what it takes to evoke a chill from your readers in such a brief verse?
If your answer is a resounding, "YES!", then this is your chance to shine.
Write a 5-7-5 poem that evokes feelings of horror, terror and, if you're really lucky, perhaps even revulsion in your readers.
A 5-7-5 follows the structure of a Haiku. It has three lines. The first line has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. The third line has 5 syllables again.
5-7-5 Example
Don't eat yellow snow (5 syllables)
It's not healthy as you know (7 syllables)
Besides, it tastes bad! (5 syllables)

Author Notes
The word "Suey", for those of you who might not know, is a call farmers use to gather their pigs together for feeding.
Be-dee, be-dee, be-dee...that's all, folks!
As always, thank for reading my morbid musings.
