A hero they hailed him at first
Sully, whom they later did curse
A man of valor and merit
But there were those who challenged it

The birds appeared behind the clouds
Both engines died -- it was so loud
Can't turn or detour -- must exit
But there were those who challenged it

The captain did some quick planning
Eyes in focus he kept scanning
He had no intention to quit
But there were those who challenged it

Computer generated tests
raised questions whether it was best
solution in river to sit
But there were those who challenged it

Ferries and divers kept alive
All souls, one hundred fifty-five
Not one person did they omit
But there were those who challenged it

The plane's black box should save the day
Computers wrong -- there was no way
projections to detour could fit
But there were those who challenged it

All 155 passengers and crew aboard the Airbus A320 evacuated from the partially submerged air frame as it sank into the river; they were rescued by nearby watercraft. The incident came to be known as the "Miracle on the Hudson", and Captain Sullenberger and the crew were hailed as heroes. Until the formal investigation began...
