What is love?
So many lines of prose well penned
aspired to define its gist.
Vast reams of poetry eclipsed,
by love's eternal power.
Love is the lilac's sweet perfume
which soothes the soul at dusk.
Love is a soft and lilting tune
on balmy summer gust.
Love is a spirit still untouched,
eludes most human hands.
It has no body, form, or shape.
Cannot be saved or held in trust.
One must just simply let it flow
consume the being and the soul.
What is love?
It is a sharing from within
that seeks to give and not condemn.
It never takes for selfish sake,
nor hides behind protective walls.
Experience has made me wise
for life is love and love is all.
