I really don't pay much attention to my face in the mirror. I brush my teeth, wash, comb, and when I do notice my face, it's not the familiar one that I forget doesn't look that way anymore. It looks all right, maybe even better than the real me, but not like ME, to me. I still get caught off guard (not as much as the twit in the illustration, but I do stare).
