He blusters, blows and has his way
With slush and sleet and freezing rain.
His chilly days and frigid nights
Leave frost upon each windowpane.
I've heard him say a million times,
"A polar vortex is to blame".
I'm not convinced his claim is true.
That weird defense seems rather lame.
For better or for worse, I go
To smooth his snowdrifts on the lawn.
I build ice castles by the lake
And sprinkle diamond dust 'til dawn.
Now some may think our life is strange.
We quibble, play, then have a laugh.
But it's not strange at all, you see,
I'm Old Man Winter's better half.
