These teenage years, how us parents worry.
Please, kids, turn twenty, do hurry.
It's hard to believe, how quick you've grown.
Tough choices for years were all you've known.
Try so hard to be years older.
Attitudes innocently turn much bolder.
Friends made easy, losing them quicker.
Even best friends do often bicker.
Staying out later and later at night.
We parents pray that you're alright.
Come home safe, is all we ask.
Calling home shouldn't be a task.
More importantly, is telling the truth.
Set an example for the younger youth.
As teen years end, for twenties to start.
Be caring, be loving, just have a good heart.
When we say it's wrong, and you say it's right.
Guess What?
Even our parents said they weren't born last night!
We offer advice, our job is to guide.
We just want you to shine with self-pride.
Only when your own child arrives.
Is when you'll understand why I got hives.
One day you will realize, your parents weren't mean.
When your own little baby, becomes your teen.
