Where resides the person inside,
the pumping heart or the circuital mind?
I think the mind is where I'll find
my person's spirit that God designed.
I pondered the question,
for evidence I've searched
just as a bird, high atop his perch
observing, you see, where his next meal will be.
A person can die
and return, God, to thee,
but his heart can beat on
long after his mind is gone.
God is Spirit, the Bible says.
In his image God made man,
so it is, when death we meet,
our lifeless body sends our spirit back to Thee.
Where resides my person inside?
My mind, I think, contains my soul divine.
So in our Creator, believe, I must
in God's perfect plan, His Spirit and mine forever entwine!
