Broken Promises by Delahay

Should I stand on feet of clay and ask
Do you believe in me
Do I fill your needs
Would you breathe for me
Do you doubt my deeds
Would you bleed for me
Would you see for me
Would you lie for me
Would you die for me

Is this a dream where reality hides
Will you bring flowers for my grave
As time goes will this feeling stay
Will you be there when the cold wind blows
Will you be waiting at the end of the road
Does the ghost of yesterday visit your dreams
Will you hear my dream after I'm not seen
When the grass turns from brown to green
When the birds return and the cicadas sing
I lie with the bones of those who fell at Sand Creek
Or dropped by the way on the Trail of Tears
Last night I heard the dreams sing
Calling me home
Calling me home

Two Heads told me of Sitting Bull's dream
Walking Bear came to me in a dream in the smoke lodge
He said it was a pity the white man did not know the ways
Of men, of metal buffaloes
They could have killed many Human Beings in their showers of death
The white man took our land, killed the buffalo, our women, our old men
They gave us blanket crawling with the sickness of their minds
Man is man's greatest danger
Calling me home
Calling me home
