Spring wakes up the ground.
Grass pops it's head!
Clocks are set not behind
Oh no, they're set ahead.
Winter clothing is packed away
Until the season changes back to fall.
Sunglasses, rackets and gloves appear
For games of tennis and baseball.
Teachers end the school year
and hand out the final grade.
Seniors may receive scholarships,
But most will apply for financial aid.
We put away the soup pots,
And cook outdoors on the grill.
Hot dogs, seafood and even steak
With S'mores as dessert, we eat our fill.
Looking out the window
People are in full swing.
One can plainly see,
The season is officially--Spring!

Author Notes
People of Minnesota seem to hibernate all winter...waiting with anticipation for freedom from the layers applied to our bodies to keep warm. Then on the first warm day we emerge from our caves much like bears. Friendly greeting are exchanged and the BBQ is the meal of choice. :)
