On the Run

what to do?
that ground hog is the
weather beast
I am only a prairie
dog living my life
the humans have an
arrest warrant for
his incompetence
he should have predicted
warm air and sunshine
so he dashes off
and some think
I am him
well concealed
in the only available grass
hoping he is caught
my life is all about
food and family
Mr. Know-It-All
can go to jail
I'll turn him in
laughing all the way
basking in my life
where breezes blow
and supper is
consumed

Author Notes
I heard on the radio that there is an arrest warrant for the Ground Hog so I came up with this poem. I couldn't come up with any pictures of the Ground Hog on Fan Art.
