Drops from perspiration
Roll down the side of the face
Stopping to mix with the hair
That make up the carefully, sculpted sideburns
Sitting, patiently waiting
For a turn to speak with the judge
Eyes start to weigh heavy
Watching, one by one, stand up to speak in front
Hours crawl by, still sitting
There's no one left now, except for one
Familiar name is called out to attend
The time has come to claim one's innocence
The judge intently listens
As carefully chosen words are delivered
The judge's wisdom and knowledge deduce
With an apology for time wasted, this case is closed
