Come walk, my love, along the beach
and let the waves caress our feet.
We'll wander through a few tide pools
where frothy surf and shoreline meet.
A breeze will snare your long brown hair
and whisk your skirts across your knees.
I'll grasp you close so you won't trip
in any tumbler as it flees.
The water's warm, the sand is smooth
while on this summer's eve we stroll.
The sky is stuffed with cirrus clouds,
a setting sun and screaming gull.
We'll amble with our arms entwined,
and as the waxing moon ascends
we'll pause to kiss as sweethearts will,
then pray the evening never ends.
