Write a Poem in Terza Rima contest entry

That day, by chance, I took a different track
which wound through summer fields and then dropped down
beside the little stream which, running slack,

played host to humming dragon-flies. A frown,
and then I crossed and headed upwards, where
my path was overgrown with bracken, brown

from arid days, and brambles crawled, a snare
to such unwitting walkers. Pushing through,
I came upon a stand of bush and there

I rested. Towering against the blue
of distant sky, rose massive trunks so vast
they formed a great cathedral. Then I knew

a peace that soothed the troubles of the past,
a voice that whispered, "Yes, you're home at last."
