"Mr. Wolf, Mr. Wolf won't you come in?"
Mrs. White said with a wink and a grin.
"I'd be delighted, my dear. We've much to discuss.
Mr. Pig has gone missing. They're pointing at us."

"Us? I can't tell you how shocked that I am.
Mr. Pig? Missing? It must be a scam!"
"Please drop the dramatics, dear. According to facts,
We have both endured scandal and all it attracts.

"What we do now may determine our fate.
Let us make certain our stories are straight.
We might have an hour; let us rehearse till we're sure."
They prepared and were ready to answer the door.

"Lieutenant Columbo, won't you come in?
Please have a seat, sir. Say, how have you been?"
"I hate to bother you folks, but as you can see
Two pigs have gone missing, now another makes three.

"I follow the clues, no matter how slim.
You both were accused of murders most grim,
And you both were acquitted. I know that is true,
But I still have some questions I have to ask you.

"Mrs. White, with the deaths over at Clue,
I'm afraid suspicion falls upon you.
We discovered bent candlesticks left in Pig's hall.
And Mr. Wolf, the neighbors say they heard you call,

"'Little pig, little pig, let me come in,'
Then you huffed and puffed and blew the house in."
"So, Lieutenant Columbo, this must be a trick.
Pig's house is still standing; it is made of red brick."

Columbo chuckled. Poor Mrs. White scowled
Until they all laughed when Mr. Wolf howled.
"Well, I must follow the leads and check alibis,
And then verify motives in all I surmise.

"I have what I need. I think that I'll go."
"Oh," said Mrs. White, "please say it's not so.
It is time for our dinner. Please join us and eat."
"I don't mind if I do, ma'am," and he took a seat.

"Oh, just one more thing, as I'm prone to say..."
Both of them tensed and then both looked away.
When he asked his question, they weren't sure what he knew.
"Could you pass me a bowl of that scrumptious pork stew?"
