It seems like yesterday when I found my Sage
There was a lady holding her and I felt a rage
A tiny black Yorkie that I just knew was meant to be
I'd stop at nothing to give her a good life with me
As I held her my nose she bit gently and licked with a kiss
This was my new furry best friend and my heart sang with bliss
Some called me crazy but I treated her like my new baby
She had clothes so small and some felt jealous, well maybe
Sage and I talked and she knew when I was mad
She licked my tears away knowing I was sad
All my secrets my furry best friend knew
She loved me no matter what all the way through
Last month my sweet girl turned twelve and got a cough
I knew she was fighting for her life and it was very rough
One day she couldn't walk and my heart broke inside again
Oh how I wish we could go back to day one where it all began
She stayed wide awake her last final hours
I knew she was fighting off any evil powers
But finally her life ended and she drew her final breath
On her journey to Heaven she went to live her life refreshed
I love and miss you Sage my dearest furry friend
You were truly the best dog imaginable until the very end
I look at your picture each and every single day
Enjoy life on Rainbow Bridge with your ropes to forever play
