Friendly Advice

I'm told there are advantages
to spending time alone,
and who am I to argue with
what scientists have shown?
But if a pollster calls to ask
what I would recommend,
I'd tell him to get off the phone
and find himself a friend.

Before anyone tells me some of the words in this poem are not in the vocabulary of a small child, let me say that not all the poems I'm inspired to write by photos of my grandson are intended to be poems for children.
