He sits on his rocker and puffs on his imported Cohiba cigar
He stares as the reddened ash builds slowly at the tip of his cigar
And marvels at its perfection
He takes another puff
The wind blows gently
Taking the exhaled circle of smoke
Into slow extinction in some distant galaxy
Dispersing appreciation of its perfection on the twilight of the evening stars
He takes a sip of his favorite whiskey
Gentlemen Jack
And satiates his thoughts on the crispness of the cool autumn air
His mind is his weapon
Words echoing thoughts of humanity
As he philosophizes life
His time is timeless
And his message is clear
Eternity is for the eternal
But humanity ceases
In a lifelong battle against dreams
Of shadows that whisper goodbye
Where will he go for his final reward
Will it be in heaven
As it is on Earth
Or will his Earthly existence
Vanish in a wasteful
And tarnished goodbye
