A heartfelt plea
to keep me in mind.
When others choose to forget.
No time for tears
or random visits.
Just a call now and again.
A card in the mail.
No stopping by.
You're way too busy it seems.
I may be old
and not much fun.
But I still remember you.
I'll soon be gone.
No need to weep.
I've had a good long life.
The guilt will pass.
You'll be off the hook.
I'll soon be just a memory.

Saw a show about old people who were abandoned in a nursing home. Too sad.
