The Door to the Elders stands before me in all its glory.
Thriving on the insanity of those who have called before,
The Elders hold court while those of lesser value strive to succeed.
Taking a whiff of the sulfur that surrounds the mountain sanctuary,
I kneel before the doorway that may open by my request.
Already feeling the immense weight of their Saint-Hood,
I crumble to the Scorched Earth beneath me in anticipation of failure.
Thunder Claps are heard above as the request has been denied by the Elders.
Once again, I have come up short in the eyes of those who judge.
As I am struck down by the Gargoyles of Denial, I catch a glimpse of success.
