Deep thoughts-free style
Edge of Eternity

Standing on the edge of eternity
In a blink I'll be gone
The hole that death creates
Will fill again with life
Like the cemetery mound
Slowly recedes back to wild flowers
So with passing time the memory fades
Will my great grandchildren
remember my name?
Will they ever question who I became?
Time keeps on ticking away
Grave stones with long lost names
Birthdate-Day of Death; with a dash in between.

Author Notes
The picture is looking out my backdoor at a glorious Texas sunset. I think it is sad but true. Most of us are not remembered beyond the third generation. I don't know my great grandparents names or anything about them. Now that I'm older I wish I had asked my grandparents about themselves and their parents. Too late.
