in cold and snowy morn
you peck and devour seed
to fill your hunger
snowflakes float down
upon your tiny back
yet feeding time rules
despite the chilly air
I care for your tiny form
you bring joy to my day
a delicate beak
nourishes a hardy soul
waiting for your arrival
I fill my feeder with seed
you peer at me in curiosity
human watching your head tilts
a smile upon my face
