The trouble with camping under trees,
Is not that you might get fleas,
Although they might be in the ground:
It's waking up to the most raucaus sound,
Like none you've ever heard.
A thousand little chirping beaks
Making sleep a prospect very bleak;

Gum nuts fall like giant balls.
That make you jump as if a lump
Of rock has hit your roof.
Then you see the proof
Of chewing, nibbling,dropping.
Just check the muck
That on your van gets stuck.

Birds arguing,
Squabbling,
Singing to the morn.
If you have any sense,
Don't get tense.
Park upon the lawn
If you want to sleep past dawn.

Author Notes
Love the birds. Aren't they gorgeous? But not at 6 AM.
