The sun sparkled on the blue water and reflected off the pool chair It was early in the day the water still cool. Just an ordinary day How could anyone passing by see the horror that lay beneath? Short curly red hair floating 3 year old arms extended out Her little white sun-dress drifting Face down she lay What had caused her to take that fatal plunge we would never know A hole in the fence was later fixed But we could not get her back Her mother screamed when she found her until the screams became silent Rescue attempts were useless Our little angel was gone. Writing Prompt Sadness has overcome us all at one time or another. Either caused by a relative or close friend's death or from the girl or guy that broke our heart or just life in general. We all handle situations differently, some good, some bad. This contest gives us the ability to explore this.
