they fashioned with help from April rains.
If you seek inspiration for the day,
look no farther than ribbons in bright array
as festoons of flowers add romance
to Maypoles made merry by song and dance.
If you seek inspiration for the day,
you need one more thing on the first of May.
You need to find joy within your soul
to make you a dancer around the pole.

Author Notes
Fan Art has telephone poles, totem poles and fence poles, but no Maypoles. It has rusted chains, but no daisy chains. It has Judy Garland, but no flower garland. I tried :-)
The syllable count on each quatrain is 10/10/9/10 and the meter is a mix of anapests and iambs - just read it naturally :-)
