: I Asked the River by adewpearl

I asked the river why such rush
to feed the waters of the sea,
why feel a need to rage and gush
on route to reach your destiny?

The river felt no need to pause,
to offer me some mulled "because,"
but rather gathered up more force
as it continued on its course.
