Each sculpted drift of swirling snow
in ceaseless change as brisk winds blow
invites me with its creamy white
to linger on this sparkling sight in constant flow.
No greater gift I'll ever know
when crystals capture sunlight's glow
to multiply its brilliant light,
a million facets glitt'ring bright in dazzling show.
I cannot pay the debt I owe
for boundless beauty God bestows,
so poetry I'm left to write
to praise the Lord for this delight of drifting snow.

Author Notes
This contest challenges us to write a florette poem. This form consists of two or more verses of four lines with syllable count of 8/8/8/12. The rhyme scheme is AABA, and in the fourth, longer line, there must be a word in the eighth syllable that rhymes with the ending word of the third line. Click on the contest link for more information if that sounds as confusing as I think it does. LOL
