I Long to Float by adewpearl

I long to float through cloudless skies
to places free of flood or haze,
my silk balloon conveying me
through star-strewn nights and sun-struck days

to places free of flood or haze
where only gentle rains are known
and winds blow but a balmy breeze
that catches kites when gaily flown.

My silk balloon conveying me
past troubled shores to paradise,
for this I'd pay a princely fare
and even offer twice the price.

Through star-strewn nights and sun-struck days
I'd sail these currents with delight
if only I could book my way
upon the next enchanted flight.
