Just Being Honest by adewpearl

Could I soar through the atmosphere
to find a cloud and disappear
where I might wait till skies were clear,
I'd hide inside
till cheerful songbirds caught my ear
and rain had dried.

Philosophers might say embrace
the problems I cannot erase,
to flee from them is a disgrace --
but if allowed,
I'd find that soft, safe hiding place
inside a cloud.

Author Notes
Though this is not part of the contest, I was inspired by a current contest to try my hand at the Scottish stanza, made famous by Robert Burns, though he did not invent it. The format is simple - verses of six lines with rhyme scheme of aaabab cccdcd and so on. The syllable count is 8/8/8/4/8/4 in iambic meter.
I find great inspiration in the philosophical, life-affirming and uplifting poems on this site and even write some. However, sometimes I'm in the mood to do what comes naturally rather than to follow sage advice about the life well-lived. This is just a bit of comic musing on those days when I'm not much up to being inspired to being a better person. LOL
