The daffodils of April bring
a burst of hope that comes with spring,
while summer's warmth with brilliance yields
bright buttercup-and-daisied fields.
But over Earth, God casts no pall
as summer days march on to fall,
for in His sky still glows the sun
and in our soil, the golden mum.

After a couple of heavy posts, I thought a bit of sunshine was due.
It's almost time for chrysanthemums, named by Carl Linnaeus, the famous 18th Century botanist. The name comes from the Greek words "chrysos" for gold and "anthos" for flower.
