More myku on Kennedy and the times of his life
Lion of the Senate Myku 2 by Kit Minden

As my heroes pass from the earth,

I wonder when my time will come,

the bagpipe chants a dirge, a melody,

the mournful drone, the beating of the drum.

Knighted by Queen Elizabeth

for stellar service to the world,

today, to honor Senator Kennedy,

flags at half-mast will be unfurled.

John and Bobby's lives were so short,

yet memories of their passion still inspire;

now, Teddy's gone, we've lost all three,

his legacy, his bravery, I always will admire.

Son of a family of public servants,

he walked in the deep footsteps of his elders;

now, with dignity and grace, his footsteps have gone ahead,

we will follow them for many years to come.

Author Notes
Each verse is a myku in a web of poems on mykuworld. Each stands alone yet is inspired by and connected to the one below it.
