The wheel is simple as it spins
in circularity --
each curve's perfection but a part
of flawless symmetry.
Our eyes are pleased each time it turns
in fluid, artful grace,
but beauty does not give the wheel
its purpose or its place.
It has withstood the test of time
because it's never shirked
one function it's been called upon
to do its daily work.
