God’s Jewels
We watch the rich and famous
Bedecked in famous jewels,
Enjoying earthly pleasures,
Defying moral rules—
And in our mood of discontent
We sink into despair
And long for earthly riches
And feel cheated of our share—
But stop these idle musings,
God has stored up for you
Treasures that are far beyond
Earth’s jewels and riches, too—
For never, never discount
What God has promised man
If he will walk in meekness
And accept God’s flawless plan—
For if we heed His teachings
As we journey through the years,
We’ll find the richest jewels of all
Are crystallized through tears.

Fanstory’s Jewels
We read the short and sassy
Passed off as poems sometimes
Enjoying higher ratings
With neither meters nor rhymes—
And due to our grouchy nature
We fuss in our despair
And long for better ratings
'Cause their work just can’t compare—
But stop your useless envy
For God has given you
Talent that is so unique
Distinctive styling, too—
Never look at someone’s work
And feel it lesser than
Something you might have whipped out
While they worked hard as they can—
For we don’t have equal gifts
As we post throughout the year
But many jewels we’ll find among
The stories we read here.
