One thing about this creature needs a bit of explaining before the poem begins lest some of it not make sense. The male seahorse is a creature who carries and hatches the eggs of his offspring after the female deposits her fertilized eggs in his brood pouch. He carries the eggs, in this pouch, located below his tail, until they are ready to be born, at which time he contorts his body and expels his young.
Armor-bodied
bobbing creature,
chivalrous chap,
dance erect.
Faithfully father,
gallantly hatch,
hydraulic, heraldic
half-length horse.
Ichthyological illusion -
jet-propelled journeyer.
Kelp kingdom's
lady's man.
Marine maiden magnet.
Marriageable material?
Male magnificent!
Neptune's nobleman,
ocean's obstetric pater.
Quietly ranging
seaworthy steed,
travel
the underwater vastness.
What wandering x-cursions -
x-pansive, x-ploring,
yearning,
zealous.
