They say it was Jake's shenanigans
that started the donnybrook, he the practical joker in search of the perfect schnook. He'd gone to the honky tonk that night to find a twit to trump when in through the door walked his ideal mark - a totally clueless chump. Certain he'd boggle the bumpkin's mind - pull the wool right over his eyes - instead he bungled the scam so bad the simpleton got wise. Jake thought he'd found his patsy - a clodhopper, a schnook, but the knuckles on that knucklehead did form one MEAN left hook! Jake fancied himself a dilly, but he didn't know diddly squat. He started the night quite full of himself, but his mark got the parting shot. You've never seen such a brouhaha or heard such an awful rumpus, all because of a jokester who acted a bit too bumptious. Both punches and accusations flew as people ran higgledy-piggledy. To think this hoopla all was caused by bumbling, brash tomfoolery. So what did Jake the trickster do when he found himself embattled? Turned tail toward the nearest door and through it he skedaddled! |
