There were times when I was naughty
And I had to play alone
Imagination was a toy
That I had all my own
The gift of an adventure born,
A fantasy delight,
It took me anywhere I chose
In fascination's light
The joy of being anyone
In any time and place
Would keep my mind from flowing back
To what I had to face
A stick became a magic wand
Or sword a pirate wields.
Upon, a raft that was my boat
My fate was never sealed.
My marbles could be precious gems
A treasure I unearthed,
But since I was the only girl,
Must hide from "Brother's Curse"
A tree house was a castle high,
Protected by a moat
Inside its wall both safe and sound
From dragons, I would gloat
Or, I could change it with my will
And it could be a nest
And rubber balls could be the eggs,
To make them hatch my quest
With all the wonders it possessed
My toys could have new life
They would become the best of all,
My playmates under strife
