The birds rejoiced. The sun warmed my skin as I admired the budding golden daffodils and bright red tulips. God's gifts blessed my morning, and happiness reigned. My cell phone ring jarred me from my blissful state, and I answered the call. "Hello." A terrified voice screamed, "Mom, they've taken my kids." "Who?" An icy chill smothered my heart as I listened. A curtain of threatening clouds banished the sun's light. I slumped into the deck chair. "Oh, Father in Heaven, please hear me. How did the hands of the devil touch our beautiful world and steal all hope again?"
