A Constanza Potlatch Challenge

Once in a Blue Moon

by June Sargent

Under the spell of the Blue Moon
I see a perfect world of love
bathed in silver light from above

Butterflies emerge from cocoons
fluttering wings as they migrate
to sunny shores to celebrate

Wild mustangs roaming in sand dunes
Survivors from another time
enjoying freedom so sublime

Islands unthreatened by monsoons
noisy with toucans' mating calls
as orchids peek through waterfalls

Mother Earth is always in tune
with music of the universe
Why does Man remain so perverse?
