I dreamt that it was Autumn,
with air crisp-apple cold--
and as leaves swirled I caught them,
all crimson, orange, gold...

The trees all shook with laughter,
as breezes danced around--
I danced a jig, and after
I tumbled to the ground...

Above me was a sky so blue
the sun that hung there smiled.
I lay there as I thought of you,
and I was twice beguiled!

For nature's sweetness wooed me,
much as an eager beau...
Just as you had pursued me...
before the winter snow.
