Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
The dog had no home and was wandering

She Rescued Me

by HarryT

My former owner threw me out
Wandered a forest throughout
Came upon a winding hiking trail
Cold and lonely was this Airedale

She’s alone, would she be kind to me?
I walked slowly, hid behind a tree
Let out a soft little doggie moan
Ambled from cool morning loam

Her hand down, tucked me under my chin
“My friend,” she said, “where have you been?”
Need to be friendly. Licked her hand, she laughed
The lady petted my head, ran her hand along my back

“Come with me you look hungry and awful thin
Stay with me, I’m lonely, and both of us will win”
That was many years ago, she gave a place to rest my head
At night I lovingly protect her guarding at the foot of her bed
