Butterfly Kisses

by tfawcus

Dear Teagan wore a pretty dress
adorned with butterflies.
When she reached in and pulled one out,
imagine my surprise!

The poor thing had till now been hid,
(Its true home was a tree)
but when she blew upon her hand,
she straightway set it free,

then very soon across the space
that she and Grandpa share,
more butterflies were blown abroad
like kisses in the air.

When the garden beds were filled
with wings that danced in space,
her Cabbage Whites' haphazard flight
had Grandma giving chase!

Her Tortoiseshell transmogrified
into a purring cat!
She also freed Fritillaries
to flit around my hat.

She then had Grandpa reaching in
to find his hidden store.
A mighty Monarch spread its wings
and Teagan wanted more!

Although we now are worlds apart,
we have a hidden stash
that fly like dreams through cyberspace,
arriving in a flash!

Some days I have the Chalk Hill Blues
that waft like silent sighs,
but even when we're feeling sad,
we both have butterflies!
