The Who fiddles

The Fiddle

by F Scott Hafner

The ring of voice so pure.
Zeus draws his lightening bow across the strings of the rainbow.

Refracted light you thinks - a poor excuse for ignorance
Zeus dares to fiddle with destiny

Does forced change lack an instrument?
The instruments of zealots bowed by frenzy

You shall be great again cries the bow
The crowd erupts to this fiery draw

Who forges these masterful instruments, the fiddle and bow?
Some say god but give the devil his due.

How the violin steals the soul only to release it in agony for the devil, a soul so near,

But always left swimming in the wind.

Free verse, despite its freedom, often still has some elements of form. Most free verse does observe a convention of lines and structure. No rhyming patterns.

We are in a time of manipulation - too many are fiddling with destiny with dishonorable intent
