Robert Marcus Fredrick Dune,
on his shiny horn he could play a tune.
The school band practiced everyday,
they would give a concert on Saturday.
His parents would come see him and give him a hand,
as Robert played his horn in the big school band.
His mother said all of his friends were invited,
Robert was just so excited!

on Saturday was up in his room.
getting ready, he put on his sweater,
that spelled out BAND in big red letters.
His teacher said she was very proud,
and everyone must play really loud.
Up on stage Robert joined the rest,
he knew his band would do their best.

looked out into the crowded room.
So many people came to hear,
Robert's school band, they let out a cheer,
as all the band members started to play,
on that happy, sunny Saturday.
When they were done playing Robert just grinned,
he felt a happy glow within.

parents would come to get him soon.
They told him they were very proud,
of how great he played and extra loud!
They both told Robert with great big smiles,
the band was probably heard for miles.
"Your band is the loudest, that's what we think,"
as Robert's parents exchanged a wink.

parents taped the program that afternoon,
so that Robert's grandma and grandpa would know,
how well his band had played in the show.
Then both would be able to see Robert play,
even though they lived quite far away.
Later on when Robert was tucked into bed,
thoughts of his band still swirled in his head.
With his horn put away and his sweater folded neat,
contented Robert fell asleep.
