This is a true story, some years ago now. I prayed "what do you want me to do Lord? Then these words formed in my mind, "Find a hole and fill it."
My wife, a retired language teacher was already a member of the church cleaning team, (all volunteers) shortly after one of the aging members fell ill and died, I could feel God's eyes boring into me. I volunteered quickly, (not what I had planned, I'm the world's worst cleaner, but very few people ever volunteer for these jobs. People don't envisage themselves doing this, especially not me!) But ever since that day, the things I am gifted in, music, poetry etc. all sorts of holes have appeared. What's important to God, is a willingness to serve, as Jesus was prepared to do. Just think, the God of this universe is the most humble of all, absolutely no pride in Him.
He Said in Mark 10: 42-43 "For you know that among the gentiles, those they recognise as their rulers lord it over them and their rulers are tyrants over them.
But it's not so among you; but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant." NIV
Mark 10:44"The Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve" Thanks for reading. R.O.
