Forty Days
Lent Approaches

I walk upon the hills
and find peace,
for they bring me closer to God.
Songs of the whippoorwills
never cease
and serve as His staff and His rod.
Centering with Him –
communion
with the One Who loves me most -
fills my heart to the brim.
Reunion
with God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost.
With Lent approaching soon,
sacrifice
should be made for those forty days.
Our hearts with God attune,
and entice
prayers in hopes of better ways.
