Reminder to Self
Let creation go
straight from heart through fingers so
Mind won't cripple it.
Writer's Block 5-7-5 writing prompt entry
Write a (one stanza) 5-7-5 about your experience with writer's block. It can be funny or serious.
Whenever I find myself experiencing writer's block (or anything else in life), I have to give myself a good talking to. "Are you trying to control things here, Mind? Trying to reason things out and/or make everything come out perfectly right from the start?" Then I remind myself (what's said in this poem) and just begin writing. On step forward at a time, one word and then two, three . . . Bad or good, if I keep going, it triggers something and then the words start flowing freely. Yay, I broke through the writer's block! It's an AWESOME experience. I'm sure many of you writers know what I'm saying. Special thanks to karen zima for the awesome artwork.Pays one point and 2 member cents.
