Bali Reflection

Here I am amongst the sand and surf ,
watching the green sea splash upon the shore,
bringing small shells to and fro with each wave.
Above the white cloud nestle like pillow puffs against the sky of blue.
I gaze ahead and observe the ships sailing along the horizon of sea and sky.

Soft breezes blow and the palm trees dance along,
waving their swaying fronds in the wind.
Cooing doves create a familiar sound of knowing;
that they are meant to be here in paradise.

Hot sun burns my skin but I stay,
bathed by rays of warmth and security,
until the desire to swim overtakes me.
I run towards the surf and plunge headfirst into the cool water.
Swimming like a delighted dolphin I travel underwater
until I need a breath, then burst through the surface to fill my lungs.

Shaking my head I look around and smile.
Knowing I am here for a well earned holiday,
I feel my stress and worries melt into oblivion.

Oh beautiful Bali;
you coax me back time and time again.
I respond to your beckoning hand.
