A Sort of Sonnet

by Chrissy710

             A sort of Sonnet

I write because compulsion takes my hand,
When words begin to form inside my brain.
The need to let them out upon the page,
Is often many times for me unplanned.
I cannot stop this urge that rises fast,
With flooded thoughts I reach to find my pen.
My muse dictates the forming of these words,
Because in memory my thoughts won't last.
The poetry I write must have a flow,
When written down and then read out aloud.
Is pleasing to the eye and on the tongue,
And understood to readers in the know.
What drives this urge is mine and mine alone,
I cannot stop this writing muse I own.

Hi all. I wrote this this morning as the urge happened to do a sonnet of sorts, but the rhyming scheme is a,b,c,a d,e,f,d g,h,i,g, h,h, so I guess the rhyming scheme is not any of the traditional types of sonnets like Shakespeare, Petrarchan or Spenserien 14 lines therefore I call it a sort of sonnet LOL

Thank you to Renate-Pertbod for the image i

Thanks for reading anyway
